Female British passport holders not welcome to HCL
Pros
Lovely end client easy to form strong professional relationships with portfolio managers and directors, especially if you're visible to them. Excellent client site location and offices. Modernised as secure colour printing. Client uses current versions of MS packages. Good onsite IT Helpdesk also serviced by HCL Client site facilities: subsidised coffee bar, clean and fully equipped kitchen areas, easy to book meeting rooms, friendly receptionists, security staff. The loos get cleaned every 2 hours. Fantastic hard working technical team of HCL Wintel, Citrix, security engineers and technical architects. Relaxed schedule.
Cons
Misogynistic project managers. HR accept the evidence, however are too slow to take any action. Other project manager gets away with verbally abusive behaviour even in front of the client. Unprofessional, back stabbing environment. Nepotism- an unskilled tech resource has been promoted to project manager as he's related to the on site lead boss's boss. A culture of email despite being co-located on the same floor of the client. Programme and project managers lack skill, leadership and stakeholder management. Offshore PMO resources work when they feel like it. Their manager doesn't do anything if one of the resources are missing for 5 days. Client portfolio managers reporting requirements aren't met due to HCL project managers unable to prioritise tasks. It's a shame as they are a great client. Treated like scum if you're not speaking Hindi, despite being on client site, based in central London Despite having better stakeholder management skills and more knowledge of the client portfolio activities, the DMU (account leader) ignores me as I'm female and undermines my professional capability.
