Salary levels could be increased to meet competitor/ general market levels.
No flexibility to work from home (for admin staff who could be easily facilitated to do this) even once a week.
Requests and suggestions are rejected too often with the sentence 'this is not how it is done in other offices' or on the contrary, things are implemented with, 'this is how it is done in other offices'. For example, our head office in Barcelona, holidays are taken in August and many staff take off 2 - 3 weeks. This norm is expected here also from some managers. This does not make sense for our Irish market. Our climate does not soar over 30 degrees in the month of August. People like to take holidays throughout the year and not be forced to take them in August when flights, hotels etc. are peak prices just because in Spain they are facing 30+ degrees nor because 'this is how its always been done'.
Also, we have manufacturing plants in USA, this norm does not apply to them.
In Barcelona, staff receive a fantastic Christmas hamper full of treats, we do not receive this here in our Dublin office. Understandably so alcohol is more expensive here in Ireland due to taxes so one does not expect to receive this hamper just like one should not be expected to take 2-3 weeks of their holiday in the month of August.
More understanding and flexibility is needed by management. This is a new company so staff should not be subjected to 'this is how its always been done'. It's a new company so processes can be new and improved and not afraid of change.
