Pros

I was offered a great salary and benefits. The hours seems reasonable and not ever having to work weekends seemed great

Cons

I went through the entire hiring process and was made an offer, went for drug testing , fingerprinting and to have a badge made . On a Monday before class started I mentioned I was pregnant . On that Tuesday I recieved a call from hr asking question regarding my pregnancy , on Thursday I recieved a very rude call stating they were withdrawing my offer due to "unspecified concerns that came up during background check" even though the background portion had already been completed and passed long before... There's no doubt in my mind that they changed their mind due to my pregnancy , which Im pretty sure is illegal. I'm very disappointed , I was looking forward to this job and wasn't even expecting a maternity leave from them, I was back at my current job when my youngest was only 6 days old. There's nothing in my background that should've kept me from getting hired , per their rules that I looked over carefully. Whatever their reasons, I know that my merit and experience more than qualified me for this position , and my character has never been questioned, especially by an employer or associate. Their loss I guess.

Pros

-Respectful, Inclusive Workplace! Fidelity encourages anyone to bring up to someone you trust about something someone did or said that made you uncomfortable and Fidelity has no tolerance for inappropriate and disrespectful behavior! -Since COVID 19 hit 99% of this company works from home! (This position allowed working from home 2 days out of the week before COVID happened.) -Work from home but not alone! Excellent technology giving you all the tools you need to be successful and feel connected with you coworkers and managers. -Flex time! With this position getting one planned paid hour off a week. ( i.e Getting off at 4 instead of 5 on Friday and getting paid that hour. What company does that? - VERY STABLE! When companies during COVID-19 are laying off people this company is hiring. Most businesses get busy in the summer while this company gets busy in the winter. -Free Essential Health Insurance - Job Advancement! The Career Center is dedicated in giving you resources for job advancement where the people associated are there to help you obtain a job you want within Fidelity. - Plenty of other Pros!

Cons

Call center work is repetitive. (You have to really fish for cons to find them with a great company like this)

Pros

- Interesting domain and projects - Plenty of support from senior members - Manageable workload during sprints - Great direct managers that support you in any way they can - Good opportunities for career development and promotions

Cons

- Hired many people based all over Ireland during COVID, who have been working fully remote over the last 3 years. During the hiring process, gave them the expectation that when the offices reopen they will be fully remote with a possible expectation of coming to the office a few times a year. Recently Fidelity gave all Irish employees 30 days notice that it will be mandatory to spend 3 consecutive days per month in the office, increasing to 5 consecutive days a month come July. Hundreds of employees are living more than a 2 hour commute from the office, HRs response to this is we have given you adequate notice to sort out any "personal issues" in regards to getting to the office. Ireland is in the height of a rental and cost of living crisis, so there isn't any possibility of finding accommodation in Dublin/Galway and Fidelity have made it clear there will be no expenses provided for travel/accommodation. So overall a poor decision made by Fidelity which will result in the departure of many skilled employees.
