Pros

No customers to deal with. Coworker were nice to work with. Free food every 3 months.

Cons

Management does not encourage development of workers. No room for advancement for truly hard workers. Favoritism. Sexual harassment. Not following corporate policies. Safety is a last priority if at all. Extreme lack of communication between all levels of management and management and “regular” employees. Security is lackluster and any gunman could get into the facility with minimal effort. Known theft amongst management and employees with no repercussions. Health/ sanitation regulations knowingly ignored and looked over.(no soap or tissue in womens bathroom first 2 months) Threatening the job of employees if not wanting to do something deemed unsafe. (Water pipe broke and building flooded. Jobs were threatened to be taken away if we did not keep working in 3+ inches of water..see next concern for more details.) Shipping out knowingly/ purposely damaged merchandise. (Made to load water flooded boxes, that included electronics, onto trucks to be shipped to customers that should be damaged out.) Etc.

Pros

FedEx as a whole is a good company. Great benefits and recently has been doing great with revenue.

Cons

The Sourcing and Procurement org has serious leadership issues. Morale is low and has been consistently so over the years as reported on the annual survey that team members complete. Leadership micromanages everyone's work which leads to people not feeling like their leaders trust them to do a good job and nothing is ever good enough. They will also grill, berate and demoralize team members on the weekly update calls with stakeholders during the meeting! I've never seen anything like it in all my career. This has contributed to a very high turnover rate in the last few years. They also keep piling work on to the team members that are still here. Not only will you work on your project but you will take over those that quit as well. And the expectation to complete these projects are the same no matter if you have to work all day and into the night. They don't care. If you want to work at FedEx, look for roles in other organizations in the company.

Pros

I enjoy my work. Most of my coworkers are friendly and hard-working. They have a good work ethic and will help you out if you are a hard worker too. Many have been here a long time. The company will provide Gatorade on hot, busy days. They will occassionally provide lunch, or snacks. Most of those in lower management positions are friendly and helpful. Managenent gets to know each and everyone of the employees.

Cons

As with many places, there are slackers. Nothing is done about those who don't pull their weight. There are some managers who are lazy and can be seen doing nothing or on their cell phones or talking to other employees. This certainly doesn't set a good example, especially at times when they ask you to stay late. They preach about safety yet when it is busy, all safety precautions are abandoned. It is obvious that it is more important to process as many packages with no regard to employee safety when it is busy. It is very hot in the warehouse in the summer months. The pay is not adequete for the work you are doing. Those who work hard and do a good job should be rewarded, but instead they are taken advantage of.
