Horrible place to work

Pros

Work with a limited amount of talented, hard working and fun people. Most hourly employees are some of the laziest people you will ever meet. But hey, they get the same raise you do so whatever.

Cons

PSP can be shortened to BS. Management at all levels are out of touch and do not care about their employees. Policies are in place to kill your spirit. I do not know one hourly employee who has worked here for more than a year who likes this place.

Pros

10 years ago FedEx was a place I was proud to contract trucks with. It WAS a fun place to work. The memory includes decent pay, a tire discount program, a maintenance program with bonuses. and a decent run schedule.

Cons

Every year the FedEx contract has taken from us. We were forced to put workers comp on contracted drivers. FedEx never gave us revenue to cover this cost. We were forced to make contracted drivers OUR employees. FedEx didn't compensate us for the additional costs. The tire program was cancelled, The maintenance program with bonuses was cancelled. I'm sure the fuel cards, fuel tax program and toll transponders are the next to go. If you have an accident FedEx Ground will almost always say it was your fault. Even if it goes to court and you win. I've seen this happen. One of the drivers had prostrate cancer. FedEx tried to disqualify him after his doctor ok'd him to return to work. He's back to work but only after FedEx Ground was threatened with a law suit. Local management is an embarrassment and disgrace..

Underpaid

Pros

Good active job. not often boring

Cons

Grossly underpaid, Fulltime work is pretty much non existent, they rather higher new part time workers instead of giving you full time hrs to support your family. management makes good money, but all the couriers that make the company work do not get paid their fare share. corporate funded and built ground service from express dollars and now not reinvesting into express with the success of ground(and they are another story). very demanding on there priority service. They will give 20 plus deliveries and expect you to deliver them in an hour and a half. if not you will be disciplined (Sometimes over 50 packages for those stops and your lucky if have a handtruck. They dont equip all of there vehicles with handtrucks. can u believe). no concern for public or worker safety in attempt to make the priority service. Very bad management mentality about make service or else. Its kinda very distubing.
