Pros

Simple enough job to grasp: you stack boxes in semi truck trailers. Very friendly people to work with for the most part. Very straightforward tasks to get through with proper training.

Cons

Training lasts only 3 days and they will skim over a lot. They're going to test you about both the weekly and monthly safety topic while you're in the middle of carrying heavy items. Get ready to get hurt on a regular basis: unsafe work conditions. Small squeeze spaces getting in and out and held overtime for "clean up" time on what would otherwise be your lunch.

Pros

Great variety of accounts to call on. Small and medium sized businesses. Some can be very quick sales and others more complex. Good 401k plan.

Cons

Low salary and commissions for how hard you work. Managed by number of appointments booked and clients seen vs results. Criticized when giving feedback to my manager about my personal communication style. Disappointed in their training program - very focused on sales vs the actual job and logistics.

Pros

AM SHIFT - Work middle of the night inside or outside of building when temperatures are cooler. No rush hour traffic on freeways coming to work. Finish shift mid morning and have the rest of the day to do anything else that you need to do or work a 2nd job.

Cons

Fast paced. Low hourly pay. Just a few dollars over minimum wage with 50 cent raises once per year. Workers always tired or exhausted. Graveyard shifts are brutal on sleep. Getting proper sleep and making it to work on time is the hardest part of the job. Working short handed all the time due to staffing issues and workers transferring departments adds unnecessary stress on the rest of the work group to perform to get the freight out on time and avoid any delays. New hires all the time. Staffing issues means working multiple departments per shift daily or weekly. Also working a 6th day per week on your day off in exchange for overtime because there isn't enough workers to cover a Monday morning AM shift when most people have the day off and will not come in to help. Not enough full time positions as most are part time positions. A lot of flights are delayed or don't come in on time due to bad weather or pilots having to call off because they have logged in too many flights hours for the month.
