Pros

Always work to be done.

Cons

- Excessive overtime that is mandatory. - Required to "assist" others to get their work done. No self accountability, and this only applies to the favorites. - Favoritism. - Next to no room for advancement. - Wages are about 20 years behind. In no way competitive for the responsibility and knowledge required for the position. - GM only supports the growth of people like her, and if you are any different she will ensure you do not advance and your get nickel and penny raises. The worst in favoritism. She fires people for not doing things that even she cannot handle in her position. - New hires get hired on for more than tenored staff makes after 10+ years of service. - The office is much like high school and has lots of cliques. If you aren't "popular" people will treat you bad. - Mistreatment by other employees will never be addressed by management. Despite all the politically correct information in the handbook, they will allow other employees to bully individuals. - Your family and personal life must come last. Unless again you are part of the popular crowd, then you are allowed long lunches to go shopping.

NOT THE COMPANY USE TO BE

Pros

Benefits are decent, if you can put up with what i call "mental abuse in the workplace."

Cons

It is like 52 card pick up everyday. Higher Management/Engineers throw the cards in the air that morning and decide what is important for the day. I have been with company over 20 years. Mon-Frii. I get a text on a Sunday afternoon saying I am now on a 4 day 10 hour shift. With one day off during the week. The excuse is trying to cut down on overtime. There is a better way! There is no quality of life on a rotation. If you need to get another part-time job, pick up your kids from daycare, coach little league, go to weekday church services, etc. It is virtually impossible. Start time. We have a posted start time. HOWEVER, have your phone nearby. Chances are good, you will get a text or have to call work the morning of, to find out what time you really start. Company policy says no break within the first or last hour of your shift. MANY Days, we get to work. Work and hour. Then they make us take a break while we are waiting for late freight. Once again. Many of us are on 10-11 hour days and we are taking some of our break when we are just getting there. Let me add too, with the job we do. 10-11 hour days are just long. They take a horrible toll on your body and now we are out driving when we are tired. There are 4 months out of the year we are out after dark. The company is certainly not taking anyones safety at heart. Again, there is a better way! Back to breaks. If you work over 8 hours you have to take an hour. Ok. But they have to be at least 20min increments. You can take a 20-20-20, 40-20, 30-30, 28-32. But you can't take a 50-10 or a 45-15. Can the company complicate things even more. Yes, I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

Pros

Great company to work for, simply the best company in the metro Memphis area. The only Fortune 100 company in the metro area as well (to my knowlege). Company has jobs which comes with Career tracks. Great company culture.

Cons

Far too much company politics. Slow to adapt and change. Seems like it's the "superstar" employees that do the real work of the company, while the others are just running their mouths but not accomplishing much. Limited salary gains and very paltry bonuses. Healthcare plan is mediocre.
