Pros

Its a fun yet challenging job that provides adequate pay and benefits. There are legitimate avenues for advancement within the company and FedEx will help pay for your education in pursuit of them.

Cons

Right now, due to leadership changes within the company the way FedEx relates to its employees is becoming increasingly based on productivity to the exclusion of all else. There is much uncertainty concerning what our jobs will become as they attempt to wring more out of less. The philosophy used to be, if FedEx took care of its employees they would take care of the customer. That has seemingly been abandoned as FedEx heels to its stockholders. Also, employees of other companies in the industry are more generously compensated for comparable work.

Pros

Reasonably secure job outlook. Can transfer within company.

Cons

Pay and benefits have not kept up with competition. Have to bid vacation a year in advance. High management turnover means always trying to reinvent the wheel....Senior employee input is ignored, scoffed at. No accommodations for older employees, many have injuries from years of climbing in and out trucks, loading and unloading freight.

Pros

FedEx is a great brand to represent. Very highly regarded in the industry. You get good access to decision makers.

Cons

Out of touch upper management, a very dense bureaucracy, highly centralized decision making, too slow in making necessary changes. The numerous operating companies make it difficult to get things done and create a lot of confusion for customers.
