Pros

They say we will never be laid off, so job security is good. But they are also not hiring so... Good benefits and they do seem to honestly care about you and how you feel and work. Very good people too work with both in the lower levels and in Management.

Cons

Rather tedious work, very little variation. Also at time feeling of not really being able to help the customers as much as you would like. Which can make the job very stressful at times. You know you will be taking the same kind of calls 8hrs a day 5days a week with very little variety or change in routine.

Pros

FedEx has an excellent work-life balance and the opportunities to further your career or profession is excellent. FedEx thrives on delivering the "Purple Promise" to their customer, which is: provided their customers with an outstanding experience. The same holds true for FedEx employees...FedEx delivers an outstanding experience as you grow with the company.

Cons

Wow...I can't think of any downsides to working at FedEx. There are outside challenges (fuel cost, electronic document exchange, etc) that sometimes hamper the business development process, yet even with these challenges, FedEx provides us with the tools and resources to overcome the challenges.

Pros

It provides an excellent opportunity to use the communication skills developed over a career in the news business, but without the daily deadline pressure or hurried approach that can impact quality.

Cons

There are many layers of management; and it often seems that these people can be working at cross purposes. Also, because of the structure of the corporation into separate operating companies, communicators working in one area of the company may not be aware of things that are happening in another. And even though communications and marketing fall under the same umbrella, it's rare to have complete communication between the two groups.
