Pros

Very employee friendly, great culture. Employees are top-notch in their field. Competitive but friendly culture at the same time.

Cons

Since very few people leave, promotions are very few. For any positions that open, there are sometimes 20+ internal candidates for same position. This is inspite of the 'promote from within' policy that is followed for manager positions and above. Management of some of the larger projects can be done much better

Pros

Responsible for your day to day operations. It's just you when you leave the terminal

Cons

NO insurance, no benefits, responsible for all repair/upkeep of equipment. Little or no management support.

Pros

Insurance is the best you can get for part time work. Tuition Reimburstment (if you qualify), several different shifts throughout the day and night

Cons

The work is physically hard. If you dont watch and examine your check stubs closely they will cheat you out of vacation time during holidays even when you have earned holiday pay. They do not provide uniforms or protective goggles or face masks. I've been given one pair of gloves for the two years I have been employed there. The gloves they do give out will not last you more than 2 weeks. Management treats you like an incompetent child. Promotions are given based on a "who you know" bases and not by work performance. You are exposed to sickening amounts of dusts and diesel fumes and your insurance does not kick in until you have been working for them over 6 months. Employees basically have to threaten to sue the company before they give out workman's compensation for an injury you recieved on the job. Employees are not alotted any sick days and vacation time when you call in sick and all complaints are rudely directed to human resources. Fed Ex's main concern is profit not their employees. Unless you are on the corporate side you're no different from the boxes you handle!
