Pros

good benefits, good advancement options if willing to move, computer system is great gives you all you need to know. drivers and dock workers will do anything you ask them to do.

Cons

they dont care about your personal life or family life. they will make you work whatever hours they want without a care for you or your family. they will change your schedule with only a few days notice so no time to really plan anything. vacation time, its hard to get days you want if you havent been there for awhile. if you are salary they dont give you breaks so what if you work a 12+ hour day they dont give you a break for lunch or anything, they expect you to just keep working.

Pros

The pay and working conditions are excellent for drivers. The actual working environment is pleasant with the equipment being comfortable and well maintained for the most part. We have assigned trucks and runs are bid by seniority. There is no weekend work unless one volunteers and you are home every day.

Cons

There are many small rules that have very little to do with the actual job which are randomly enforced. They frequently announce changes an then decide not to implement them at the last moment. Rumors are constant. All of this creates an atmosphere of uncertainty and uneasiness with a very negative impact on morale. Local management has little power to make decisions and must refer most questions to corporate headquarters. Replies are often not prompt and sometimes don't come at all, leaving the employee in limbo. The impression is that the company is being run by a bunch of petty tyrants who don't talk to each other.

Pros

Benefits are top and they focus a lot of energy toward education of employees at all levels. The company sounds great on a resume. Hourly employees working on the dock have big opportunities to become a driver or move into management positions through driver apprentice program or leadership apprentice program.

Cons

Working a 10 hour day is a short day. 12 Hour days are the norm. Working most likely on night shifts that put you on an opposite schedule as everyone else leaves no time for a normal life outside of work. You will be micro-managed and no matter how well a job you do you will get nasty emails from upper management on things you should have done better. The emails will be about the same content, but from multiple managers.
