Pros

Possible experience with good companies. Some people who train with the scheme end up at some decent companies to be placed at, more often than not you will be sent to the middle of nowhere to a company you have no interest in.

Cons

FDM promise the world to get you through the door, you are then trapped in a two year contract where you have to jump through hoops and be geographically flexible. Low salary for these two years (there were months I had to chase my salary and expenses). Once you are out on whatever site FDM try to send you to, you are essentially dead to them until you need a new contract. Any HR issues are ignored and account managers are rude and lie to avoid having to deal with situations.

Pros

High Quality Training. You get interviews with companies who wouldn't otherwise look at your resume. Great first job out of college.

Cons

You are an indentured servant for 2 years post training. You have to pay a giant fee if you leave early. Pay is low. A bit pushy in their progressive politics, if you are not into that you have to bite your tongue.

Pros

meeting my former colleagues

Cons

* the training is rushed and doesn't allow for actual learning every week felt like cramming in for an exam, * disorganised. They've spelt my last name wrong and didn't bother to change it. *Feedback given by "trainers" was sub par and that's putting it mildly. *There was no effort placed in getting you ready for working at those big companies. * The teaching material was horrible and so were the teaching methods used by so called "trainers". * The training really isn't £20000 especially considering I've paid £9000 per year for my university degree. The resources given to FDM trainees lacks severely in comparison to what's given at universities. *Everything was self taught trainers didn't help you understand the material whatsoever. They only have a week so they go through the motions and leave asap. *You really need a background in programming or computer science just being from a stem background won't exactly help . *Everyone knows about the unpaid training which doesn't help. *The feedback given by trainers on exams and written assessments was conflicting in every way possible. People had the same answers yet one was marked down for it and the other didn't. It was vague and didn't help you improve. One trainers said something and the other says something else. Complete and utter nonsense. STAY AWAY GRADUATES put your efforts and commitment elsewhere where it's appreciated at FDM it isn't.
