Pros

- They will get you a job. - You could be in a role overseas. - Training from the ground up.

Cons

- Sales managers do not give a monkeys about what you want. - Huge training costs that you must pay if you break their sketchy contract. They are taking advantage of naive graduates, who are desperate to get a job after University. - The role you are trained for may not match the role you will be placed in on site. - Unpaid training, you are expected to fund yourself for a undefined amount of time. - When you apply for FDM, they insinuate that you are working for them and guarenteed a role. Its bs. - Outdated technology and they are not geared towards adapted new technologies, they have stagnated. - The fake reviews on here. Anyone who sees this before going to Fdm, run away while you can. Do more research and use this as a last resort.

I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t enjoying your time with FDM and that you don’t believe the sales managers care about you. We are as transparent as possible in regards to the contract, and appreciate that the programme may not suit everyone, which is why there is a two-week cooling off period where anyone can drop out with no obligations. The placements available are determined by our clients, which is why the roles vary. The need to be flexible and adaptable is key for any successful career, and those who welcome it progress to do very well. As a people business, we take all feedback seriously and if you wish to discuss this further, please email me at Andy.Brown@fdmgroup.com Andy Brown – Chief Commercial Officer

Pros

Culture is so great that it makes you want to come to work everyday (amazing location and people), The 3 months training is very helpful no matter what you end up doing in the future (UNIX, SQL, BA, ITIL), This has been a very successful business model in the UK, USA, Hong Kong etc, and the Toronto location is getting more and more popularity. If you have an interest in finance and IT, then FDM is the way to go!

Cons

Pay is the only bad thing, but you can't complain considering they pay for training + 2 certificate vouchers + get you started with a career you otherwise couldn't get in to.

Pros

- Fellow trainees are friendly and likeminded - Great team spirit during training period - Placements with blue chip clients (if you are lucky) - Nice offices located in London Bridge

Cons

- Trainees are seen as 'prey' by Account Managers, as they face pressure from management to meet sales targets and get trainees out on site. No synergy between sales and trainees. - Literally no choice when it comes to Job Offers. You are pressured to accept the offer because the client comes first, even if you really don't want to work for them. - Well below graduate level pay £18000 (basic) and then a daily rate on top when you are on site with a client - The quality of training is nowhere near the level they claim it to be (some courses allegedly worth £20,000) Some material has simply been copied and pasted from other books. Material could easily be learnt from YouTube for £0 - Contract that ties you in for 2 years service. Up to a £20,000 fee if you pull out of the contract at any time, regardless of your personal circumstances (e.g. if you genuinely don't like FDM) - Un-paid training

Thank you for taking the time to share both your positive and negative thoughts with us. We take all comments seriously so I would like to address some of your points: - Communication and synergy between teams can always be improved and we strive for continuous development in this area. The account managers work very hard to find great placements for all of our trainees, but perhaps more team building activities should be implemented. - We do our very best to match the specialties and preferences of our Consultants with the opportunities available. The nature of consulting work does require some flexibility in role assignments, which is why we are fully transparent of our geographic flexibility requirements up front. - We make the terms of the salary and contract as transparent as possible throughout the entire process so it doesn’t surprise anyone. While the rate may seem low, it’s important to remember that you are not just doing a job, but receiving high quality training in both professional and technical skills, job placement assistance through our Careers Programme, and access to a network of industry leaders – all things that are invaluable at the start of your career. Having launched 5000+ careers to date is proof that the FDM Careers Programme works. It sets you up for lucrative earning potential and great career prospects for your future. Check out the FDM Alumni videos online when you get a moment. - We stand by the quality of our training, as do our clients. We are constantly improving and adapting it based on the latest demands and technologies in the industry, and our multiple clients agree that it is a crucial part of the FDM model. They on-board FDM Consultants because they know that they will be trained to the highest standard – not something you can get from YouTube. - As previously mentioned, these final two points are transparent from the assessment stage, and we allow a two week grace period before fully committing to the programme so you can make sure it is for you. I hope you understand these points and encourage you to always reach out to Human.Resources@fdmgroup.com if you ever have any concerns. Sheila Flavell
