Pros

You may find friends through trauma bonding.

Cons

Don’t. Just don’t. There is no such thing as trust from your peers or your managers. A “hybrid” work environment where you are forced to come in to an office and pretend to get along with people who have no work ethic is really unnecessary. Having white C level management (CEO, COO, CFO) talking about diversity and inclusion while sipping cocktails on helicopters and planes is also not the best way to encourage employees to stay within the company. No such thing as diversity and inclusion, it’s all for show just like in any other company. A firm where most employees are 30 and under, and C (CEO, COO, VP) levels are 50+ really creates a major gap in the way work ethic is perceived, hence the amount of internal employees who can barely make it to the one year mark. Humans are not treated like humans. Everyone is a number who brings in numbers. You have 9 hour working days, not 8. You will be micromanaged, you will feel like there is no trust in you. Trainees are always belittled and viewed as numbers. The business is numbers oriented only. Overall, a very unhealthy and petty environment with alienated ethnic people thinking they have white privilege.

Unsupportive Company

Pros

You get your foot through the door

Cons

Very unsupportive They don’t care if you’re sick After 2 years they make you feel like you should leave because their business model is only for 2 years. This is because they make maximum money due to low pay in the first 2 years. Even after 2 years the pay is really bad. They keep telling you if it wasn’t for them you wouldn’t be where you are now. In other words FDM is the only Company that would have hired you. That’s what they think of you. They give you mental health problems but advertise themselves on LinkedIn as mental health first aiders Talking to the people team is a waste of time they don’t listen instead tell you if it weren’t for us you wouldn’t be where you are now Consultants do not get treated like staff even through we are. There is a phase we only give this to internal staff on consultants within the company. Some Account managers are bullies, they also make you feel like you begging them for a role when on the beach waiting to be placed. The above is not what I signed up for.

Fraud- avoid

Pros

Very little. If you hit lucky then you could be laughing but I was in a group of 30 and 27 of us landed the exact same role and the role was nothing like promised. We work in a call centre, answering phones all day to people who forgot their passwords. We had absolutely no say in the matter, it was very much "you should be thankful you have a job" type of vibe. Honestly please just avoid at all costs!!

Cons

Where to begin ... 1) 7 weeks unpaid training ... literally "teaching" you how to write emails ... and then claim it to be worth £20k! 2) trainers are inadequate - put you through a bunch of silly scenarios which i was willing to tolerate to get the great job they promised us ... had I known I'd be in a call centre then I would have been out at minute one. 3) once you're placed with a client they are impossible to get in touch with - honestly don't try, ive given up now. 4) oh if you've got a dentist app. Or something and you miss half a day then they won't pay you your day rate ... not even half of it. 5) you get about 4 contracts i your first 3 months with them so trying to keep up with was your rights / pay /obligation is is impossible... wouldn't be bad thing if you could contact someone but good luck with that. For a company who spends 1 full week teaching email "etiquette" they sure like to not reply to emails. 6) at the end of the day, fdm are there to get money (no issues with that) but it means that when it comes to a placement you have no choice. So if you have an interview as a project manager assistant on Wednesday and fdm get a formal offer from TSB tech now centre on Tuesday then you will be given that, even though you wanted the PMA role, you'd enjoy it more, would advance your career etc. 7) Im literally stuck answering phones to people who are IT illiterate for 9hrs a day which has nothing to do with my degree, nothing I want to do in the future and is absolutely not remotely challenging in the slightest...
