Pros

Access to opportunities that are off the job market. Stay with FDM on the bench if the client discontinues your contract or doesn't take you on permanently. Substantial jump in salary after 2 years.

Cons

Role that you get assigned might not be what you expect or so great for your career. Can be stuck on the bench for a while 3-8 months.

Pros

Nice logo and vibrant green color. Decent main city office location.

Cons

Note: The following cons are non-confidential things I have heard from others or myself, and my experiences have all been similar. - Possibly up to $15,000 training fee for new starters, which will only be waived after 2 years (questionable legality). This training fee applies even if you have a degree. This is publicly available information and they even had legal action taken against them in the UK - Salary is well below market rate and they only offer a small imperceptible increase after years of work. So they are offering you a highly mundane salary and their training fees pressure employees to stay. Essentially even if you work your butt off, learn lots and go above your weight in effort, you will have no easy recourse to obtain a salary you are worth. - The clientele they work with and their requirements was not made clear from before beginning employment. - Predatory IP agreement that is overly general/expansive. Not great if you have hobbies in similar areas. - Staff don't look like they want to be there either. - Diversity efforts seem very low effort and they don't seem to be able to acknowledge or understand how to work with people that have a different background, but who otherwise have all requirements for the tasks.

FDM makes a significant investment in training before our consultants begin their first client assignment, helping them build the technical and professional skills needed to succeed as an IT consultant. Our graduate salary packages are aligned with other entry-level programmes in our sector here in Australia. If you’d like to share more detail, we welcome the chance to discuss your experience.
