Too little pay

Pros

Good if you do not have CS degree, they get your foot in the door with big name clients. I tried to get interviews before FDM and I wouldn't even get a call for an interview because I had 0 years of experience and a nonrelated degree. I switched careers during the pandemic and figured ill take the pay cut for the two-year contract. Their business model worked for me because I don't have responsibilities besides myself, if I had any dependents it would've been a lot more stressful. You get 15 pto days

Cons

You get $15 an hour while in training up until you get placed, then you begin your salary. And lots of people in my training did not get placed right after training, some never got placed and only made 15 an hour. The pay is very very low for the industry. Anyone with a CS degree should be making double what they pay for the salary. They also don't adjust pay for where you're placed. if you are placed in NYC or Atlanta your pay is the same. Look at the salaries reported and FDM does not compare.

Pros

Many clients are working with FDM, giving you a bridge to join large (most financial) organizations which would otherwise be hard to get into through normal routes. The pay is also decent for a first job and they also train you with some of the skills required on the job. The team at FDM are generally nice and will help you if you speak up, but it really depends on who your account manager is as well.

Cons

As you will mostly be out of FDM office and will be seconded on-site at client companies, this is something you need to know about before joining. Work/Life balance will also depend on which client you join and which team as well, so it may be a little bit of the luck of the draw for you. Also, you would still be competing with others in FDM for a position with the clients, so it's not as though you are guaranteed to get a role as soon as you finish training.

Pros

The program itself offers world class training and can get you in the door with some amazing clients.

Cons

The culture is very dog eat dog. Senior management is a complete mess. Expect to be micromanaged and talked down to. Low salaries. Glass ceiling for those that don't fit a certain demographic( I'm sure you can guess what I mean)
