Software Developer Stream Singapore
Pros
- prestigious clients you get a shot at interviewing with - training is a bit too fast. if you didn't take at least one programming module before, you are going to struggle hard. (1 week on soft skills, 1 week of unix, 1 week of sql, 8 weeks of Java). There are assessments which you are graded on. Training is ok. Can be full-stack dev within 3 months. - mostly uni grads so there's a fun learning environment. - during benched period, can upskill while at least getting paid and waiting for interviews.
Cons
- MIGHT get benched for MONTHS. People looking for career change but have other commitments (e.g. dependencies), do bear in mind that when you're benched and never had a placement before, you will still draw a salary of 2.1k - salary starts from 2.1k during training. 2.8k when on client + daily client placement bonus so 3.6k+ during 1st year and 3.9k+ during second year. - u need to interview with their clients so it is quite stressful to keep preparing for interviews - Java training is a little outdated - bare minimum health benefits ($5 to see GP)
