Pros

There are great opportunities for promotion and movement to other areas of the company, and one learns a lot about running all aspects of a business. The benefits package is comprehensive and since the paychecks are comprised of salary and commission, you are in control of your own paycheck. There are some of the most intellegent and insightful people working for Enterprise

Cons

Also, the salary plus commission is not what is implied. There hours in daily rental are long and often require early mornings and late nights. For example, while there is much transparency in the interviews and through the hiring process, you are told that working hours are 8-6, when that is just the branch operating hours, and you must be in the office early to open and later than 6 )or 8-9 for some offices) to close up.

Pros

The employees below upper management & the opportunities to learn about corporate America, for better or for worse. I learned a lot about myself and my abilities. It's a great "just out of college" job. Especially since it's so many hours, after you leave it can only get better. You can promote quickly within your first year and really build your resume. The most likely possible opportunity if you wish to retire from one particular company.

Cons

The long hours. Expect five 12-hr shifts/wk...The compensation, on average, is unacceptable. You can end up owing the company $ for circumstances outside of your control...The promotions are always from within, but are often undue and given to those who are willing to talk the talk, rather than prove that they have a soul and integrity.

Pros

The people are great, once your a manager the company car is a pretty nice perk. We do have a lot of functions that are pretty fun and promotions do come quick as long as your willing to move. Enterprise has taught me a lot of skills that I feel would help me in different jobs. I do feel like if I ever have any car trouble that being an Enterprise employee has gotten me a "hook up". Truly though the best thing I can think of that the job has given me is the people I've met. That being worked for, my coworkers, and as I progressed with the company my MT's and MA's.

Cons

Long hours, bad pay for what we put up with. Which is mostly due to the high turnover so that we are always short staffed and over worked. If I got paid about 20% more it would be great and worth the longer hours, but seriously 60 hour work weeks are getting old. Also it seems like this new area I'm in is more of a popularity contest as far as promotions are concerned. It seems that poor performance plus a lot of brown nosing equals being moved to larger branchs. Also, I feel that some of my upper management would rather teach and train by the book, but not practice what they are preaching.
