Pros
There are many ways to move up in through the company as long as you have the drive to work hard management will see you are worth it to move up and gain more experience in the company,
Cons
In certain areas management will not see how are you work since there are many different departments and different management levels, You may work very hard but hard work does not always get rewarded if all management is on the same page, I do believe more communication would be good to make things work smooth in transition of new products etc,,,
