Pros
Professionals, comaraderie, INTEGRITY of almost all members. The military stands out in inegrity and unselfishness when it comes to accomplishing the mission. Not motivated by money, but rather for thinking ahead, and anticipating problems.
Cons
Lack of control of where and when you will go. Excessively long work hours. Difficulty on familiy life due to this inability to predict when/where you will HAVE to move. You are forced to move whether you want to or no. You have to "kiss up" and "play the game" if you want to advance. You are measured on your ability to ALWAYS have your "game face" on no matter what. Even the lightest questining of why something needs to be done a certain way results in being labeled as "not one of the boys." Those who make it to the top have the same, glassy-eyed, fake grin, unemotionless, blank, cut competent look -- whether they are right or wrong, no matter what is happening around them.
