Pros

- Great way to get into the Payments industry. At UL TS, you get the chance to work with some very innovative technologies in payments. The experience you get working on real world critical projects is invaluable and advances your career greatly. - Interesting projects and products - UL TS is a knowledge centric business. The people are the key asset of the organization. As a result of this focused knowledge, some real interesting and high profile consultancy projects and products are developed. - Great coworkers and mid-tier management. Colleagues are bright, hardworking and sincere. There is a collaborative atmosphere. Your immediate managers work hard to make sure that you are happy. Every manager I had truly cared about personal development and was a pleasure to work for. - Worldwide offices - you get to work on projects all over the world. Colleagues are from a lot of diverse countries, leading to enriching experiences. - Great benefits - specifically for the US part of the organization. 401K, health insurance is great. holidays and work from home flexibility is good - Opportunities for growth and leadership - The fact that the company has a high turnover is well known. But that provides fresh graduates a very accelerated path at growth. 2-3 years at UL TS and you are on track for a mid-level management role. - Chances to travel - A lot. In the advisory side of the business, you might end up travelling close to 75% of the time or more. - Great connections - This is interesting because the alumni of UL TS are indeed in very great positions in the Payments and Fintech world. Senior management at fintech firms and startups are ex UL TS folks who know the high worth of individuals. This opens doors for some great career paths.

Cons

- Growing influence of a negative corporate mentality. UL TS was a small friendly Dutch start up before being acquired by corporate UL. Slowly the old Dutch aspect of business as a family is starting to erode and being replaced by cold, uninspired leadership from across the Atlantic. As part of this change, employees are being treated as replaceable commodities. - High turnover (Though this is an opportunity in itself) - At times stressful due to the sink or swim mentality (which makes you better in the end) - Office politics in certain offices - Certain parts of the organization are not held to the same standards as others - there is a 1% within the organization that can misuse funds, travel lavishly whereas the rest of the 99% of the organization has to book 25 hour layover flights because they were 25 dollars cheaper than the non stop option.

Pros

UL solution was my first office job and engineering experience. It did not disappoint, and got me excited for my future, The HR and hiring team were all so nice and helpful throughout my internship. My managers were helpful, patient, and understanding when I had a family emergency near the end of my internship that forced me to leave the country temporary. The internship showed the various departments in the company, not just the one we had applied for. Would definitely recommend anyone to apply for them.

Cons

UL solutions is focused in certifications and safety, so if you are expecting projects involving development and design this is not the place, We had to do a breakdown on products and perform tests to ensure it meets standards of safety.
