Pros
- Choose your own hours. - Website is easy to use. - A separate site is available where you can post on a feed (laid out like Facebook) and other users can respond. Some people use it just to be friendly, others ask questions that they would like answered right away. - Immediate feedback: The QAs will send back all of your errors so you can compare it to your own work. - I know that a lot of people think the interview is hard and are upset if they don't get accepted but it is a clear indication of how this site works. They want perfection and if you fail the interview, think of it as not having to waste any more of your time. "Perfection" is also hard to attain when another person with their own grammar preferences is editing your work. You will spend a lot of time stressing over the style guide just for them to not follow it at all and reject you.
Cons
The amount of work that you put in is not worth the money. I have been on this site for 3 hours tonight and made $3.45. I spent a good amount of that time simply refreshing the page because there were no jobs available. The audio is very poor quality most of the time and they are simply impossible to do with your ears alone. You need to download software or a Chrome extension and even those won't always help. It also takes time to edit the audio which eats away at your earnings. They have a brief style guide to the right of your job and I printed out the PDF style guide which I keep next to me. I already have one rejection and a note on another job which says that I need improvement. I'm positive this is true, as I am new, but the QA was inconsistent with the style guide that I was following so it's very hard to know exactly what they want. Simple periods, commas, and dashes will earn you a rejection which means you don't earn that 50 cents you worked hard for. I also heard words and they marked them as [inaudible]. So if they couldn't hear the word, I was wrong. I came on here and read the reviews before trying it out. I wanted to be open-minded because having an online job to make money on the side would but amazing but it's not worth the time. I'd rather have a second job so I would have been paid for these 3 hours I wasted.
