      Good company to settle - Senior Java Developer Tata Consultancy Services Employee Review

      Pros

      Good Infrastructure. Good co workers and seniors. Good place to learn technologies. If you want to settle in life, prefer TCS. Some projects are really good for work life balance. Even there was salary hike(very low, but fine when compared to other companies who didn't give any hike) in lock down periods.

      Cons

      Don't join Citi projects. Hectic work. They will ask us to work more than 14 hrs per day, but salary will be less. And if you get into Citi projects, no way to escape from the project. Managers won't release you easily, as there are much works in that. This made me to seeking job outside. Otherwise I would not left TCS.

      Pros

      Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

      Cons

      For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
