Pros

TATA is brand name and it feels great to be employed in TCS at start Job security knowledge management

Cons

Lot of them . The most important one is performance evaluation which is the most unjust and corrupt . B.Com guys who dont know anything about technology are promoted and those from RECs and NITs are getting layed off or downgraded through evaluation Reason--> If you are geting released from a particular ISU / domain at the time of appraisals then you will be given lowest rating to adjust the BELL CURVE . THere are so many people in the organization that it has become difficult for the management to adjust everyone's aspirations and that is why the employee career growth is uneven. No body hears your voice and HRs are the worst functioning of them all. No body can save en employee if he/ she works in a horizontal.

Pros

Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

Cons

For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
