Pros

You'll learn Java if you are given java development. But in that too old technologies are used. Other than that no pros.

Cons

I joined TCS as an experienced professional and working since last one year in this project. The points mentioned below are solely for TCS-SBI project. 1. No AC/ worst cafeteria/ stinking toilets. 2. TCS higher management thinks its there home and Junior employees are their servants. 3. No corporate ethics. 4. Mental harassment at every point of time. 5. Bad politics, no matter how good you are working, you can be a victim of politics if you are not a good bootlicker. 6. Resources don't have backups in many teams. They can't go for leave. They might cancel the leave even if it was informed 4 months earlier and they failed to arrange any resource. 7. HRs are deaf and dumb dolls. They always favour senior. No matter how wrong he/she is. 8. Work environment is worst. Alternate working Saturdays. Sometimes you need to work continues Saturdays. No work life balance. EVERYTHING IN THIS PROJECT IS WORST. What is more disappointing is everybody around TCS (including Higher Management of TCS) know about this project. But nobody takes any step.

Pros

Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

Cons

For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
