Pros
Solid pay, easy to do if you're competent, good benefits
Cons
The schedule is terrible, you will not get weekends until you put years into the job and your hours range from a 3am start time to an 11am start time with few options in between. There is an extreme lack of work-life balance with an expectation that you will dedicate every waking minute to the job without taking time off due to an awful vacation system. TSA Boston specifically doesn't offer on-site parking despite other airports having it for their officers, leading to excessively longer commutes. The TSA also doesn't care if you have any mental health issues, you can be genuinely suicidal and attempt to kill yourself and if they find out their first option is to basically fire you instead of actually attempting to help. The only real benefit of this place is to be a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
