Entry-level Government Job - TSA OFFICER TSA (Transportation Security Administration) Employee Review

Pros

Your co-workers are going to be interesting and the reason you're going to want to go to work. Good people, lots of different backgrounds that add to underrated passenger experience (customer service). Great training staff even though they are often over worked and under appreciated. Good benefits and starting pay.

Cons

Bad management, very two-sided and wont have your back if something serious happens. Drug testing is heavily in favor of TSA even if you do not test dirty. Performance reviews (PASS) are not a true representation of daily activities. Washington/ upper management will use omission and deceit to inaccurately score performance reviews. In order to NOT PAY officer bonuses at the end of the year they will tell you that no matter how well you have preformed as an officer, NO ONE will receive a score over a certain point which results in thousands of officers not getting a fair chance at their bonus.
