TSA (Transportation Security Administration)

Is this your company?

Great benefits, but in the end you have to touch people against their will - Transportation Security Officer TSA (Transportation Security Administration) Employee Review

Pros

Reasonable health insurance 12 days each of sick and vacation each year TSP (retirement plan) Stable schedule

Cons

You can be written up or fired for using your sick days. In some areas, it is impossible to get the time off you want. Also, you will work weekends until you get enough seniority, which can be a decade. I have had to pat down (physically search by touching all over) babies, young children, people in pain from my touch, elderly people, people that can't understand what is happening to them. The good people, the one ones with options leave. The leftovers are the ones who get promoted. So you have a guy that barely graduated high school telling you why, with all seriousness, grandma can't take her bottle of water with her. I was told that I wasn't promoted because I wasn't the "right" race.
