Pros

Decent salary for what your do. The job isn't stressful unless you don't like people, in which case most jobs are going to be stressful. Benefits are offered to all employees, even part-time employees.

Cons

For a federal job, this position has no job security. Multiple skills tests are assessed pass or fail yearly with a failure resulting in eventual dismissal, regardless of seniority. Promotions are given to the most random individuals. Frequently, persons with little apparent intellect will be promoted for who knows what reasons. There is potential for promotion, but there is plenty of competition. A degree will not necessarily help you advance. Work schedules will vary from year to year and is based on seniority. If management doesn't like your reason for calling in sick, they will restrict your leave, making a trip to the doctor necessary if you ever get sick.
