Pros

- Their flagship game has a large (but rapidly depleting) user base - Office is cool - Some nice benefits like almost free lunch (you do pay tax on all benefits) - Good salary - Company is relatively young/international and hence a sociable and casual(ish) atmosphere

Cons

- Management is mostly driven by fear and is seemingly under a lot of pressure, inevitably leading to bad decisions, which in turn make things even worse! - Their games are pretty poor quality from a user/product perspective - Nobody in the company seems to be very passionate about video games (which explains the above), not even the designers or product team - It appears the company is being kept afloat by a old dying cash cow, and nobody seems to understand why or how it is still making money - The company in general is extremely risk averse, so not a great place for someone who is interested in learning new skills or applying new or innovative techniques - Everything is urgent all of the time, you will soon get desensitised to panic and crisis, as they are the status quo - Some sneaky practices, like they force you to take 2 weeks of your holiday in August and try to sell it as a "benefit" - Also, no chance to work remotely, without any apparent reason other than lack of trust - Long hours - many people feel obliged (or forced) to stay past 7pm, pretty much 5 days a week, despite official hours being far less than this - Also they say you can finish early on a Friday, but there is easily 80% of the staff still working at 5pm

Pros

It's a great place if you want other people to be telling you what to do and have no proactivity. Just say yes, do the thing, keep your boss happy.

Cons

You are as valuable as your manager thinks you are if they can use you to advance their career within the company. If working conditions suffer and you structure a group to raise your concerns, they'll come up with some excuse to kick you and everyone else who has raised a concern out. The people that could jump ship taking a different job have jumped ship. Most of the people left are those can benefit from the current system to exploit it and further their career, and those who really need their job to survive.
