Pros

The company is growing... and fast! Fair base pay and a good bonus structure that rewards growth. Great benefits including 6% 401k match and cheap health/dental insurance. Plenty of room for advancement if you play your cards right (and are liked). Beautiful corporate office at Thanksgiving Tower in downtown Dallas.

Cons

Fraternity C Suite seems extremely distant and uninterested in the people who make up the day to day operations of the company. Politics play a larger role in getting promoted than performance does. (More than at a typical corporate job). The company focus seems to change weekly since they like to launch things before they have actually worked out all the details. (Launch it now fix it later mentality.) No increase in base pay for merit and tenure. (You will only get a higher base if you are promoted.) The culture has changed drastically since the company went public and is no longer as enjoyable as it once was. $100 a month for parking in downtown Dallas.

Pros

Of all the companies I have worked for, Santander has had the strongest training program. The training was comprehensive, well-structured, and especially valuable for employees who are new to the banking industry. Additionally, Santander's ONE software is by far the most intuitive and user friendly banking platform I have used, making it easy to learn and navigate while supporting efficient daily operations.

Cons

Like most retail banking roles, there is a strong sales component. With fewer customers visiting branches due to online banking and ATMs, much of the day is spent making outbound calls to existing clients, trying to set appointments, and push products and services. While I understand the importance of sales in the industry, I personally felt there was significant pressure to prioritize sales goals over relationship building and client service, which I was not comfortable with.
