Pros

Some of the most dedicated and passionate Sales representatives in the marketspace. They are keeping the Synvisc brand alive in light of poor management at the Sr Level. Turn over would be much higher if not for a truly dedicated sales force. They focus on the patient and maintain a professionalism that represents the product and company well.

Cons

The Sr Management and Sanofi have destroyed the Biosurgery family. Hyalgan was once a Sanofi product. It never was a market leader or a fast growing product. It was a me to product and was a very small peice of the Sanofi revenue pie. Synvisc on the other hand was a leading product for Genzyme and held the number 1 Marketshare position for 12+ years. Sanofi has taken ownership of Synvisc and has forced the Sales model and support into the Hyalgan mold. Like anyone would predict, Synvisc is now in decline, the passionate sales force is not energy of the product anymore and is not respected. Sr Management does not trust or support the Sales Force as it once did. For the countless Genzyme Biosurgery legacy employees, I feel bad. Most importantly, I feel bad for the thousands of patients that will not get the best treatment option due to a poorly supported sales force to get the word out to providers. I predict continued decline of Synvisc Market Share and employee turn over. Very Sad...

Pros

Extensive and active employee resource groups, strong leadership development opportunities, clear company mission, gig opportunities that support career development, strong employee support through the ombuds office and compliance help line, and stable company portfolio.

Cons

No work-life balance considerations with hybrid work model, contradictions in company mission compared to policies (i.e., target to reduce carbon emissions with employee commuting to office as one of the top 5 causes but yet still requiring employees to commute to office 3 days a week), some office sites are not conducive to in office productivity (not enough privacy or space), compensation package is not competitive for MA pharmaceutical companies, long-term incentives have almost no value once they are vested, health care benefits require employees to jump through hoops to maximize discounts or qualify for coverage of certain medications, and accountability for department leadership to follow the corporate leadership pillars is inconsistent across departments.
