Good if you lack ambition - Senior Marketing Executive Sage Employee Review

Pay, Progression, Veneer of Shiny Happy People, but below the surface everyone is displeased. I have never worked somewhere that I can simultaneously feel utterly dispensable, but also totally indispensable. There are yearly rounds of redundancy that affect people of all levels, job descriptions and responsibilities change without consultation - due to "business need". But don't you dare take a week or two holiday, because work that you've handed over and trusted would get done (as there are time sensitivities) will just be waiting for you when you get back - at the same exact state of play. There is a serious lack of onboarding and what passes for a handover is utterly laughable. In a meeting recently we were showcased how a select few have moved around within Marketing to progress. Because that's the only way you can progress - happenstance and staying with the company long enough that you get bored and try your hand at something new. You don't get the opportunity to hone anything or become an expert at anything, because you're constantly bogged down with meetings and emails. There are way too many cooks in the kitchen on every single thing, with no one feeling like they can or should action things. So nothing actually gets done. We're dragging and forcing things over the finish line sometimes. Most of all - I'm just utterly bored most of the time. The job isn't challenging and doesn't require any thought. I am actively seeking to leave as there's no room for progression (even when seeking lateral internal moves) as there's an obvious hiring slow-down. The company must be performing worse than they want us to believe.
