Pros

Benefits package, anniversary trips, some great people, office locations, free food

Cons

Maybe all you want is a job and your (small) paycheck. Then SAGE is for you. If you're not looking to advance and you see endless overwork as job security, then SAGE is for you. If you think passive-aggressiveness and toxic office politics are professional and you don't expect your manager to support you because they have their own problems like perpetual meetings and looking good to other departments, then SAGE is for you. If being asked for your opinion only to have it ignored or to be told that the decision has already been made for you, then SAGE is for you. If you don't mind carrying dead weight coworkers and lots of inefficient processes, then SAGE is for you. If your idea of a healthy company culture is lower-level staff numbers getting smaller and worked to the bone while middle and upper management become more and more bloated, then again, SAGE is for you. From the No Cons reviews, some people have found their perfect fit, and I wish them well. For everyone else, you can do better. Money isn't everything, but even for publishing, most SAGE's salaries are low, especially for the locations their offices are in. They do not keep up with the cost of living. HR often passes the buck and leaves things to the discretion of individual managers, which means there is no consistency within or across departments for policies like telework. If you want to build a career, SAGE probably is not the place for you, because there are few chances to grow unless you are one of the favored few. It's demoralizing to always feel like you are replaceable, because that is the vibe SAGE sends out even though they say otherwise. It was really hard to leave, partly because I had started to feel like I wasn't worth anything to another company, but I took heart in remembering that no one I knew who'd left regretted it and wasn't happier now. As I am.
