Pros

You are given responsibility from day 1 due to the company being very lean, can be a steep learning curve for some. The people that work at SCJ tend to be friendly and make it a good environment to work in. 1pm finish on a Friday, although you do make up the hours doing the week for this. Are willing to put you through training. As an employee you receive profit share.

Cons

The salary is not reflective of the responsibility you are given and does not match industry average at all. You are very limited on career progression as its very dependent on people moves/leaving, this means that your professional goals are often put to the side as management prefer to move you to where is convenient. Location in Frimley is not ideal and they have enforced 4 days in the office which is baffling after showing that the work can be done from home. Would have expected a large FMCG company to be much more flexible with this. Senior management tend to be 'lifers' of the company and therefore only see things in one way making it extremely difficult to make any internal changes whether it be processes or strategic vision. When anyone makes the decision to leave, senior management take it extremely personally and act disappointed in the person leaving, rather than looking at the route causes and working with the person to retain them. Unsurprisingly the staff turnover is high.

Pros

You will not be bothered by people talking to you, benefits seem okay.

Cons

Don’t expect to be trained on anything. Management will expect you to figure things out on your own, request your own accesses and figure out what you need without any guidance. They’ll send people to you for questions on how to do stuff within your first couple days, not having taught you how to do those things.
