Cons
Management in information technology stinks. They make promises that are impossible, neglect to inform teams of these promises, then hold you over the fire to accomplish them. Many of the managers are not trained to be managers and do not have the temperament to be people managers even. Micromanagement is common and I have seen and experienced belittling behavior. Lack of trust, delegation, goals and strategy lead to a fast sapping of motivation and passion. Location is ok, but telecommuting is discouraged H R policies are hard to find, rarely enforced consistently.
