Pros

There really were some great, talented people working at the company before the Dell acquisition and while we operating as part of Dell Software Group. The products were a bit stale, but there was line of sight to revamping quite a bit of the portfolio which was promising.

Cons

As soon as private equity purchased Dell Software and broke out Quest as a separate company, it went down the drain quickly. They ultimately lied to all employees around what the strategy while the true game plan was to fully take advantage of us all. I guess it was all part of their playbook, but it was dirty. Totally understand you want to make money and there were changes that needed to happen, but for God's sake...man up and be honest about what's expected to happen instead of losing trust of everyone involved. Might as well tell the rest of the surviving employees the truth that their days are limited until they get replaced by another one of your old Attachmate cronies or some young (cheap) blood that doesn't know any better. The surviving Quest employees that I still talk to are all miserable and looking for other jobs.

Pros

The new ELT has been making a lot of changes to shift Quest to newer products, focus, and GTM strategies. This has been much needed, and the future looks much brighter. Regardless of the changes, the culture of respect and inclusivity and people-support has remained. I would refer Quest as an employer, especially the Legal department, to anyone I know.

Cons

As with any period of changes and redirected focus, there has been some turmoil in reductions, tool/platform changes, etc. This would be a tough environment for anyone who has trouble adapting.
