Pros

Clean work environment. Free PPE. If you are a bad welder apply here. They hire anyone who shows up to the interview.

Cons

Low pay for welders. See above. They pay everyone like you are the guy who can't weld. If you stick around for your whole career you might make an extra dollar or 2 an hour. After one year they gave me a .5% raise which was equivalent to 10 cents. Inflation is currently estimated at 7-9% for comparison. Philips does NOT prioritize paying their workers. At the end of 2021 and early 2022, their 3rd party payroll system was hacked. Philips decided that paying their employees for their overtime work was not a priority. For roughly 2-3 months every hourly worker got paid for 40 hours even if you worked 60. And mind you this was right around the holidays. Many workers were counting on that extra overtime money. I saw grown men crying over this because their families Christmas' were ruined. This went on for months. Yes, you got the overtime pay eventually. Philips, an international company which is worth billions of dollars couldn't risk paying an extra 50 bucks to an hourly worker. I'm sure their vendors and suppliers got paid on time.

Pros

The people in non- upper management roles that work there are fantastic. Great sense of community onsite and the culture champions are consistently looking for ways to make work life better.

Cons

Very poor communication on the strategy for the business unit. Leadership publicly promotes innovation and new ideas to be presented but then those ideas are shot down or penalized in private by current upper management. The business unit leadership says that don't want excuses for project delays but will then decide to do 3 major layoffs in the first two quarters with no transition plan, no support for gap in resources and no expectations to delayed progress.
