Training is very subpar. During our EV certification, the instructor was giving answers to the questions on the test to pass people through. Often the training delivered isn't understood by the trainer and is just delivered as a PowerPoint presentation. There is little to no progression opportunities. They just restructured pay but at my annual pay review I was told I got my rise last year! This meant just a cost of living increase this year, even though the previous tiers for a rise didn't exist last year. They will interview for positions that aren't available. There is often the octopus way Vs regs and industry standard. Jobs either aren't surveyed at all (EV) or on Air Source, they're surveyed by people who haven't got a clue what they're doing. We are often cancelling or postponing jobs due to this. We then have to be the barer of bad news for the customer and explain the companies incompetence. They want things done faster and faster not understanding that sacrificing time sacrifices quality. Even when we are able to complete it in less days, they end up paying more to get it done as Overtime was required to complete the timeframe in days. Hours worked remain the same. There is also a lack of understanding that losing day 1 of the install to iron out the poor or lack of survey takes time out of the install.
