Pros

-pay is now more competitive -great coworkers -good management -hospital really makes an effort to take care of their nurses and patient safety -good opportunities for upward mobility

Cons

-short staffed often -hospital does not divert when beds are full so often you end up with patients you don't regularly see (neuro patients on an ortho floor, ortho on the cardiac floor, etc)

Student nurse extern

-some of the nurses on the floor were nice -gets your foot in the door with a hospital as a student -supportive management on the floor i was hired on

Cons

-low pay for what you put up with -was mainly working as a patient care tech as opposed to a nurse extern -nurses on the med/surg floors weren’t very nice and willing to help -don’t feel like i got enough training -the pre shift anxiety was horrendous
