Pros

On the Neuroscience Unit, I worked as an RN for nearly a year. They were very flexible with my schedule.

Cons

I was not a fan of working 12 hour shifts. It was rare to leave my shift on time due to frequent and unplanned admissions after 3pm.

Student nurse extern

-some of the nurses on the floor were nice -gets your foot in the door with a hospital as a student -supportive management on the floor i was hired on

Cons

-low pay for what you put up with -was mainly working as a patient care tech as opposed to a nurse extern -nurses on the med/surg floors weren’t very nice and willing to help -don’t feel like i got enough training -the pre shift anxiety was horrendous
