No Leadership, No Vision, No employee appreciation - Nurse Clinician Northside Hospital Employee Review

Pros

Has a good reputation for baby deliveries

Cons

Nurses are not appreciated. Nurses week was celebrated on Friday (last day of the week) at 2pm, with a Popsicle. There is NOT a chief nursing officer or a chief medical officer. 1 out of 10 employees could point out CEO/CFO in a line up. Three campuses that only share the Northside name. Most physicians are community physicians and therefore are not invested in making the hospital better. The electronic medical record is a little better than HORRIBLE. There is high turnover and high patient to nurse ratios. Pay is decent for new hires but very few raises for employees that have been with the company for any length of time. Managers get promoted not on qualifications but rather they have been in a position for a long time.

Pros

I have been privileged to work for Northside Hospital for the past five years, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. During my tenure, I have benefited from the organization's commitment to employee growth through its annual internal promotion policy, which has allowed me to advance within my current department. One of the aspects I value most is Northside's support for work-life balance and professional development. While working here, I was able to begin my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program from the ground up and am on track to graduate in December 2026. The flexibility and encouragement provided by the organization have played a significant role in helping me pursue my educational goals while continuing to contribute as an employee. I was a full-time employee for most of my career with the organization and recently transitioned to part-time status to accommodate the increased demands of my nursing program. The support and understanding shown by management throughout this process have reinforced my appreciation for the company's employee-centered culture. I am grateful for the opportunities, professional growth, and support I have received over the past five years.

Cons

None that I can think of right now
