Pros

Good health insurance, and the hospital it’s self does a lot for the community..

Cons

I worked there for almost three years, my manager was horrible, she treated the staff like cattle, but she treated the PCTs worse, and 80 percent of the nurses were incompetent! Nurses sitting on there behinds while pts are falling because the techs are swamped with the max load of pts so if a pt had to go to the bathroom and the techs were all busy and you asked a nurse to do it they would say they were busy or it’s not my job, yes busy doing nothing, the fall score on our floor was 90%.... omg and the self scheduling was a joke to say the least, my manager would lie about holiday tracks, she would change your holiday track to meet her needs without even letting you know. If you put in your schedule in the computer, you most for certain can bet that your whole schedule will be changed and moved around.... the focus is not on the pts it’s on filling the rooms, probably why they lost their contract with one of the major physician groups, and this is just the tip of the ice burg... This hospital does not care about it’s emoloyees at all... I don’t know how it got the great reputation it has, because it doesn’t match what I saw! BEWARE!

Pros

-some of the nurses on the floor were nice -gets your foot in the door with a hospital as a student -supportive management on the floor i was hired on

Cons

-low pay for what you put up with -was mainly working as a patient care tech as opposed to a nurse extern -nurses on the med/surg floors weren’t very nice and willing to help -don’t feel like i got enough training -the pre shift anxiety was horrendous
