Pros

Lots of opportunity for overtime. Great co-workers and teamwork. If you like a fast paced environment, this will be a good fit. Also lots of opportunity for career advancement or transferring to different departments/units.

Cons

Management is out of touch with how to make employees happy and want to stay. Pay scale is an insult. Work understaffed with a higher than agreed upon patient load.

-some of the nurses on the floor were nice -gets your foot in the door with a hospital as a student -supportive management on the floor i was hired on

Cons

-low pay for what you put up with -was mainly working as a patient care tech as opposed to a nurse extern -nurses on the med/surg floors weren’t very nice and willing to help -don’t feel like i got enough training -the pre shift anxiety was horrendous
