Pros

Nothing apart from the new office location and some of the new joiners

Cons

The problem NTT DATA face in the UK is the inability to accept they are a very low margin IT bodyshop. Most of the junior "consultants" are in IT project management or PMO related activities. As a bodyshop the margins are so low the UK barely makes any profit. There was an endless discussion about soft drinks and coke in the kitchen. The cost was estimated at £50k which meant we had to sell over £1.5million in new business! Profit margins less than 4%, no money to invest in staff, IP point squarely to a low end bodyshop and glorified staffing agency. As other posts have said, ignore the hype about "being a startup" or "Japanese innovation" - that is true but not in the UK. A complete illusion where all the good people do their 1 to 2 years and leave.

Pros

I have worked with NTT DATA as a government IT and project management consultant since 2018, starting with Cognosante before the acquisition. My experience has been very positive. I have had the autonomy to focus on the success of my team and my client, while also having the support of a large, high-performing organization. There are real opportunities for growth, strong training resources, and leaders who genuinely care about employees, clients, and the communities they serve. I have also been promoted during my time here, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent.

Cons

As with many large organizations, processes and systems and can sometimes take time to navigate, especially during periods of growth or transition. Continued focus on communication and simplifying internal processes would make the employee experience even stronger.

Pros

- Strong global presence allows for diverse projects, clients, and opportunities - Enabled and encouraged to learn new technologies, use tools, and grow skills - Generally supportive teams and cross collaboration - Great work-life balance in many roles

Cons

- Compensation and raises can be slow, infrequency, and below market - Personal Development review process can be unclear and slow - Processes and decision making around them can feel very outdated, there seems to be a lack of structure and clarity around many HR and business operations areas - Very little employee recognition - Critical benefits information isn’t distributed well and there is zero follow up actions to ensure we have all important access/accounts set up
