Pros

Not many these days. I am so glad I left. This company has lost a lot of credibility and is crumbling.

Cons

Used to be a good company. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. After they acquired Nexus, they lost their way and became very "top heavy." They promoted a bunch of people to "directors" and ultimately had to go through layoffs. The HR department spends their time trying to win "best employer" awards for recruiting purposes rather than actually serving their employees. Here's an idea... why not spend your time on actually making your company excellent instead of focusing your time on trying to convince someone how good it is. The best awards you can have is the praises of your employees, and you will win awards with much less effort. They lack useful systems and expect their employees to work extra hours to compensate for it. This is a highly political organization. In some lines of business, they employ sketchy business practices. If you refuse to participate in such practices, they'll find a way to eliminate you from the business.

Pros

I have worked with NTT DATA as a government IT and project management consultant since 2018, starting with Cognosante before the acquisition. My experience has been very positive. I have had the autonomy to focus on the success of my team and my client, while also having the support of a large, high-performing organization. There are real opportunities for growth, strong training resources, and leaders who genuinely care about employees, clients, and the communities they serve. I have also been promoted during my time here, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent.

Cons

As with many large organizations, processes and systems and can sometimes take time to navigate, especially during periods of growth or transition. Continued focus on communication and simplifying internal processes would make the employee experience even stronger.
