Pros

Deep product portfolio and great brand recognition. Some starting salary, which definately helps, and wide array of areas that you can choose to make a specialization. Finally, the leads system while not the end-all, be-all is certainlly better than no leads whatsoever.

Cons

In general, the company and management team will say "you are an Advisor", but the intrinsic manner of recognition and compensation lends itself more to that of an insurance salesman. Moreover, they would ask that you constantly utilize an extremely complex variable annuity with as many people as possible. This can easily cause more harm that good. If you are new to the industry, understand that in general managers are usually people who really couldn't cut it for the long term as agents and opted for the more stable option. However, that won't stop them from acting like they know everything. Instead, look to your experienced long term reps and study their habits.

Pros

Good support for new people managers were very helpful and always available

Cons

Micromanage every second of your time; have to put in a request to go to the bathroom and wait for someone to grant it Expect you to put exceptions to your time after your shift ends on your own time Half hour lunch by the time I brought my lunch or heated my leftovers and went to the bathroom. I barely had time to wolf it down. Unrealistic call times Systems are horrible and crashing all the time expect you to be in at least 15 minutes before your shift unpaid to set up all the programs on your computer
