Pros
Kraken is a company that is run for developers with a focus on developer experience, such a smooth onboarding process allowing you to be actively working on your team's project in your first week - with the tools and set up that works best for you. Kraken support hybrid, flexible, and remote working depending on the person's circumstances, as long as you're able to get your work done. They also have a robust yet unintrusive opsec that lets you work safely with the environment that works for you. There is also plenty of room for growth, with a clear progression path for management and towards individual contributor. Kraken also protect your salary with a yearly salary raise to account for inflation. Kraken started as the tech side of Octopus Energy and is now its own entity (which does still belong to the Octopus Energy group). It's worth noting that there are sub-companies within Kraken, like Kraken Flex, Kraken Field, and Kraken Utilities. This means that working for Kraken you also get the benefits from Octopus Energy group, like unlimited PTO, access to octopus money coach, free yoga classes, free headspace subscription, and every worker gets issued octopus energy group stock options when they join.
Cons
The developer standards are high, so it's not really a place for anyone who isn't passionate about programming or doesn't value best practise.
