Good company but research the plant or division of your interest. - Contract Engineer Johnson Controls Employee Review

Pros

I began working at the York International Large Tonnage Packaged Chiller Plant in November 2005. Johnson Controls acquired York in December and it was about a year before any culture change occurred. Since this plant was an outstanding profit center, many changes were slow as to not disrupt the daily operations from inappropriate policies. The JCI policy changes and documentation are getting accomplished but it has been 4 years.

Cons

There are employees in positions that do not meet their job descriptions at this plant. This was due to the culture that ignored the job requirements that could jepardize product quality and quality ratings (ISO9000) to promote internally from the shop to the office in order to reduce costs.

Focus on innovation and sustainability -The company invests heavily in smart building technologies, energy efficiency, and green solutions, which can be exciting for employees who enjoy modern, impactful work.

Because JCI is a huge multinational company, decision-making can be slow, and navigating internal processes may feel challenging.
