Shortly after I was hired, my manager went on mat leave (no one knew until 3 weeks prior to her leave). Total shock, but what are you going to do. The manager who took over me was AMAZING. There was some weird and suss activity when she came back from mat leave though. So, be aware that there is favouritism. Everyone will act like everything is fine, but that's probably because the nepotism doesn't affect the majority of people in the company.
